I can't see my robots in the Robot Monitoring Suite Client Application

The Robot Monitoring Suite PC application automatically detects and lists the robot controllers enabled for monitoring. If you have successfully installed RMS on your robot controller, and you have properly configured its IP settings and can access it via FTP, but you still cannot see it in the robot list, it is possible that a firewall is blocking the communication.  

One of the security features that Microsoft provides to keep your information private is the Windows 7 Firewall. To get the most out of the firewall, you need to tell Windows 7 to allow certain trusted programs to break through.

Choose Start→Control Panel→System and Security→Allow a Program through Windows Firewall.

 

  1. Choose Start→Control Panel→System and Security

  2. In the left panel, click Allow a Program through Windows Firewall.


  3. Select the check box for Robot Monitoring Suite to allow it through the firewall.

  4. Click OK to accept the settings.
